Minutes away from keeping this beauty ourselves. Very early 20th or late 19th century crazy quilt. Silk, wool, cotton. The fabrics are wonderful! Backing is chartreuse.
Condition: Please see photos. As with most non gallery subjects, the silks have degraded and frayed revealing the muslin behind. There are not other holes surprisingly. A few age stains that don’t detract. Backing has fade in various spots. Thin in some areas but not overly fragile. Some areas of the binding hem have come loose. Appropriate as hanging artwork or gently used on a bed.
